Join today and become one of the hundreds of NAACP Freedom Fighters in Saint Paul! Our branch continues to fight for the rights of you, your family and neighbors. This past year, we have accomplished the following:

  • Partnered with the City of Saint Paul, Saint Paul Fire Department and others in launching the groundbreaking EMS Academy with the goal of permanently increasing the number of firefighters of color serving our communities.
  • Joined with other community members to hold the Central Corridor legally accountable for acknowledging, measuring and alleviating negative impacts on the residents, families, small businesses and community-based organizations in its path.
  • Engaged with the University of St. Thomas' Community Justice Project and state and local Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiatives to reduce disproportionate confinement of youth of color, eliminate bias in data collection and usage, and prevent further abuses of power in the state’s pursuit of gangs.

These are just a few of the accomplishments in 2010. Imagine what more we can do with your help! There are still significant justice system disparities. People of color are experiencing much greater rates of unemployment. What are you going to do about all this? How are you going to respond?

First, join or renew your NAACP membership by submitting the application/renewal form today. Then, consider running for a branch office, participating on a committee or volunteering on a project. Everybody doing a little is more effective than a few doing it all.
